pain after surgery normal?

i had epiretnal sugery for a macular pucker several weeks ago and my eye is still very sore and experience bouts of burning where I have to use an ice pack for the pain, after eye drops. I still have to wear sunglasses in work or in stores. It stll feels like someone punched me in the eye and it leaks fluid. My doctor says this is normal and maybe i have a scratch there but it will be okay. But i am unconvinced. Is this normal?

I've had this surgery twice, and I never experienced the symptoms you described.  No, I don't believe that it's normal.  It sounds like you might have a corneal abraision, but I don't think that problem would last for several weeks.  In your place, I'd either demand an appointment with the surgeon today or consult another doctor.
