Sorry--I meant negative dysphotopsia. You can read lots more about it by search this site or by googling the term.
You're not alone in coping with negative photopsia, which is what the problem you have is called. Try typing "photopsia" in the search box in the upper right corner of your monitor.
I think that the conventional wisdom is that the visual symptoms will diminish over time with neuroadaptation in most cases. Few surgeons would recommend an IOL exchange at this point in time. I'm not an eye care professional and, frankly, I think ReStor was a very poor choice for a commercial artist in the first place. It is associated with too many problems producing bad/distorted vision. In your place, I'd start looking for a surgeon who is experienced in explanting and replacing IOLs. You could find one by referral or by calling the doctors listed in Castle-Connolly (www castleconnolly com). A silicone aspheric monofocal lens might be a better choice for you. Best of luck.
