Is it common for retina gas bubble to break into another smaller bubble?

I had detached retina surgery two weeks ago.  Today, my gas bubble developed a smaller break off bubble.  Is this normal?

Hello, I had the long lasting bubble for 12 weeks when I had my vitrectomy for RD repair.   Yes, it would sometimes break up into a few different sized bubbles one day, the next it would be one again.  Pretty annoying isn't it?  Towards the end of the twelve days I had a tiny one that suddenly disappeared.  I don't think its any concern, but as always, contact your Dr. with any questions - that's what they are there for and they expect it.  Regards, Jim
