Right Eye Gets Better

I recently went for an eye exam and cataracts were diagnosed although not bad enough for surgery yet, male, age 65.

However, optometrist could not correct left eye to 20/20 so she recommended I go ahead with surgery on the left eye.

My right eye had a spherical at that time of -1.25.

Fast forward to post op one month, about two months from the original exam.

Same optometrist, now Plano in the left eye with new iol(hurray), but the right eye's spherical is now -.5, an interesting improvement.

Anecdotally, without glasses, I really do think I see the improvement in the right eye.

Is it common for a natural eye to improve after the other eye gets cataract surgery?

Did the improved left eye help the right eye to be less tired and function better?

The right eye is still "yellow", but I see better with it.

Could I have had a bad day at the first exam?

I'm not complaining, certainly, just wondering.

Left eye dominant, btw.

Forgot to mention the first exam was the ophthalmologist and the then it was the optometrist who disagreed.
