Hello, I am planning to order contacts online as I have in the past. However, I think I need to tweak my prescription a little bit. Not sure if this is a smart thing to do, and most will advise me to seek an eye doctor, but I am trying to avoid that. I have a recent prescription of: Acuvue Oaysys, BC 8.6, DIA 14.5 which are default settings on the website I am planning to order from.
However, there are options for D which I assume is power, CYL which I will probably keep the same as my recent prescription, then AXIS which I will most likely just keep the same. I would like the contacts to be a bit smaller if I could, just a bit because mine now are a little big. Would CYL or AXIS help this? Could I just select the next level down on CYL to get a slightly smaller contact, or should I tweak the AXIS?
The main thing is power though. If I select a higher level on D, will this improve my sight? I feel like I should be able to see a little better. So instead of ordering D -2.50 should I try D -2.75 instead? Or would it be D -2.25? Is this how it all works, or would a slight change in prescription significantly alter my sight? If so, I will just order the same type that I got from my eye doctor. But if I can change for the better on my own, I definitely want to do that. I am avoiding the doctor because I am working long shifts all week and I can't make it there, and I will be out of contacts by wednesday so I need to order tonight. Thanks!
