Yes that is the article I was referring to. Thanks to you both for all of your help. This forum has been a lifeline for me. I am beginning to feel more confident that there will be a way out of this mess. Still nervous about explant but have good questions to ask surgeon about options. Leaning toward Dr. Melki at Massachusettes Eye and Ear since I live in CT. The article about the best eye hospitals had them on the list. I am also familiar with Wills Eye since I grew up in Philadelphia.

For more info, check out the patient education video at www tecnisiol com.

It's been my experience that the improvement in night vision is subtle but real.  I used to dread driving to my sister's house at night, because it involved navigating very dark, twisting suburban roads.  However, since I got my aspheric monofocal lenses, I seem to have no problem with the route.  (BTW, both the article and the above website praise the virtues of the Tecnis aspheric monofocal lenses made by AMO.  However, the ArySof IQs by Alcon also have research evidence to support the claim of improved night driving.  I have the Alcon version of aspheric monofocals.)
