Lost Depth Perception

I had strabismus that I was born with (my son was born with it as well) and I compensated for it until about the age of 65.  After that I developed double vision that I could no longer compensate and it was unsafe for me to drive.  I went to Jules Stein Hospital at UCLA and had it surgically corrected but now I have a different problem.  I've lost a great deal of depth perception which again affects my driving.  I am having difficulty with parking because I can't judge how close I am to parked cars or the curb.  My worst problem is that I have a very narrow garage and I have hit things.  Is there anything that can be done to correct this problem?

Thank you very much for your reply.  I keep getting different reading with prisms, I had some glasses with prisms before the strabismus surgery but I have not had them since.  I will call my surgeon to see if I can get corrective glasses again.

I have hear of this a few times.  I believe you developed some depth perception with your eyes not being align.  Now this has change.  I guess you try some prism to put you back to were you were before 65 and see if it helps.
