Myopia 0.25 to 4.5 with in 2 years

Hi,
My daughter  myopia  when is 5 years  it is 0.25 .When she is 6 her myopia is -2.75 and now she is 7 years old it is 4.5. We didn’t understand why it is increasing like that. There is any thing wrong with her eye or it is normal?

This is the bottom line. The role of near work in causing myopia or it to progress is not understood and studies are conflicting.

Myopia progression is not really understood.
The progression of your daughter's eyes is very high but not uncommon.
What is known about myopia progression is that it is accelerated by excessive near work. Outdoor activity seems to be a protective factor.
Latest results from a study support the hypothesis that wearing bifocals could help.
