Myopic Macular Degeneration

I was just diagnosed with Myopic Macular Degeneration in my left eye. I have had one treatment of Avastin last Friday and the dark spot has improved to a blurry dark spot I can see through. I am scheduled for a PDT treatment this Friday. Is there hope for the vision to improve more? I am only 28 years old and have a small child at home that I need to raise. Also what are my chances of getting it in my right eye? I am looking at the Amsler grid a few times a day to make sure my right eye is not going bad also. The doctor said my right eye looked perfectly healthy, except that it was nearsighted. I have read quite a few of Dukey's posts and want to know his take on this. I just hope this is not a problem that will lead to blindness in my near future.

1. Myopic macular degeneration does not lead to total blindness but it is a threat to your reading, driving, facial recognition central vision.
2. The risk of "wet" MMD in the other eye is probably about 6-15%
3. Your vision may improve some but "success" is defined as stopping from getting worse once treatment is started. That success rate is about 70%.
