Small copper chip flew into eye

I was making a ring, beating it with a hammer. Suddenly a small copper chip flew into my eye!
My eye had a stinging pain like a small needle.
I went to the ER a few hours later, they put in some eye drops as an analgesic. Then they put in one that was supposed to colour it, they found nothing.
I left but an hour or so later there comes back the same pain.
The piece was really small, do you think they missed it, or is it just a scratch or something?
I also washed my eye with an eye cup at home, do you think that could have taken the chip out somehow?
What do to now? I am worried that it's still stuck in my eye.

Arrived now. The guy swiped a cotton swab through my eye and removed a seriously small copper chip!! We're talking like a breadcrumb. Now my eye is happy. Woohoo!

That is the type of injury that can send a metal particle deep into the eye and generally some additional tests are necessary such as Xray of the orbit for foreign bodies or Orbital CT scan. I would suggest you see an ophthalmologist Eye MD tomorrow and ask about Xrays.
