RESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA: As we celebrate our Independence Day please use fireworks safely and responsibly. You do not even need to use them at all to have a good Independence Day.  There are more eye injuries over this 4 day period than any other. Almost every eye injury from fire crackers and fireworks can be prevented by eye protection and keeping your brain engaged (not pickled in alcohol). Do not use illegal or home-made firecrackers. Do not let children shoot off firecrackers without proper supervision and those they "set off" should be age and maturity appropriate. DO NOT DIRECT BOTTLE ROCKETS AT PROPERTY OR PERSONS. I have removed two eyes split apart like ripe tomatos from bottle rocket injuries.
