Distorted vision after RD surgery

I had a retinal detachment last Oct and had surgery the next day. The doctor placed silicone oil in my eye. As my vision recently started to clear up a little, I noticed that all the lines are wavy, and some images are distorted. Is this effect of the oil? Or is something else going on?

It may be the oil or it may be the effect of the RD on the macula. Use the search feature and archives and read the previous posts about RD surgery and silicone oil in the eye.   It may be temporary but it is often permanent to a degree.
