Silicone oil removal expectations

I had silicone oil removed and had air and saline solution put it 6 days ago. I notice my upper eyelid is a little swollen three days later. My eye burns when I put eye drops in it. Is this normal?

My ophthalmologist told me that my vision will get worse before getting better but he doesn't explain what worse is. Currently, I can't see anything other than daylight out of my operated eye. For example, I can't see my hand when I put it in front of my eye. Is this what he meant? I do notice that the black ring (when looking down) is getting smaller.

I realize I had my surgery 6 days ago but I would like to know what to expect in the coming days/weeks. Thanks.

This surgery is HUGE surgery and each is different. You posted earlier I believe that yours was for a macula off retinal detachment. You ask good questions but they are not something I can answer because this type of surgery defies generalization. Your best recourse is to discuss with your surgeon or their staff.
