Steroids and Glaucoma

Does anyone know if glaucoma will resolve on its own if prednisolone eye drops are discontinued? (My glaucoma is steroid-induced.)

Thank you..

Thank you for answering my question. Your answers have given me hope!

allmymarbles--although I don't have COPD and haven't the need for an inhaler, I have taken massive amounts of oral steroids in the past. I am constantly on the look-out for natural remedies for inflammation issues. Thanks again, and all the best to you.

mlynndcats--I have uveitis, too. Bilateral anterior, intermediate AND posterior. The flares are no fun, as you well know. I hope your uveitis is in remission and you are able to enjoy life. Thanks again.

I also have had steroid-induced glaucoma from Pred Forte.  I was using it every two hours for several weeks due to severe uveitis.  As I tapered off the drops it got better.  I also used eye drops to dilate my pupils.  My glaucoma resolved itself; however, because of it some of the pigment from my iris is stuck to my lens.  Follow your eye doctors instructions carefully and call him with any questions, he will have the most accurate information.

I was developing glaucoma (early stages) from steroids. I stopped the steroids and the condition resolved itself. Stop the steroids if you can. I was using Advair for COPD. There were many bad side effects. But I found that I actually got better results using natural remedies. No side effects. If COPD is your problem look to natural alternatives.
