Vision goes blurry on one eye after gently pressing eyelid?

I am 14 years old, and I have glasses for seeing far away. I got them last year because I couldn’t see the white board in school. I visited the optician yesterday and they said that my eyesight has gone slightly worse overtime so they needed to update my prescription glasses.

I noticed that if I gently press my left eye lid (with both eyes open) my vision goes really blurry (I have bad vision for seeing far away but when I press it, my vision goes blurry for close up things as well) so I tried it on my right eye, and my eye was completely fine.

I tried googling it to see if it’s a normal thing, I found some similar results, it’s just that, on a website I read that it improves their vision when they press their eyelid.

Could this mean any further problems (health wise)?

I just want you to reassure me that it’s fine and I’m just overreacting thank you.

It’s your eye’s way of saying “that hurts, quit pressing on me”. When you press like that it increases the pressure in the eye and decreases the blood flow neither of which are good for the eye.
