I have always saw a trail of motion when I waved my hands in front of my eyes (and looking far away). The motion doesn't have to be fast and I see a trail that vanishes quickly.
I wonder if this is unique to me or does everyone experience this?
Have an eye exam by an Eye MD ophthalmologist. Unless something else develops after the exam don't worry. It has been discussed here many times called palinopsia . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palinopsia
Thank you for the answer. I read the articles and it might be the illusory kind. (I reguralry have comprehensive eye exams, no issues there).
Note when e.g. throwing an object or seeing a car moving this isn't a problem. It for no apparent reason happens only when something moves close to my eye when looking far away. In these cases I see a blur for a very brief period of time then all good. Is it possible in this case the motion blur is normal and I overthink this?
You first have to have a normal eye exam by an Eye MD ophthalmologist that you tell about this symptom. If exam is OK and nothing changes don't overthink.
