blind in HALF an eye

Hi there. My mom just woke up and called me to come over. She can not see out of half of her left eye. It started when she first got up about two hours ago where when she looked out of the bottom half of her eye things were blurry. Now it has gotten to where it is just dark out of the bottom half. She cant see anything low unless she tips her head down and looks out of the top half of the eye. There is no pain anywhere not in the eye or the head at all. When she went to bed she was fine and the other eye is fine as well. She is very worried and has no insurance at all after being let go of her job of 30 years. She is wondering if it is ok to wait it out a day or two or if it could be something very dangerous that she needs to rush to ER for. In a matter of 2 hours it has gone from a little fuzzy to black.
