contact lens

What is the best way to go with contacts if you need reading glasses but still see far away fine. ?
I am presently trying mono focal (one lens in left eye is for close up & rt. is for far away)
but a buddy of mine just went to get contacts & his doctor told him go with multi focal lens & then ONLY if that doesnt seem to work go to the mono.
My doctor  first thing put me on the mono ?
Which is really the way to go ???
Thanks

Yes some are happy with one, some with the other, most don't find either acceptable

There is no "best" method. Different strokes for different folks. Often none of these work which is why few middle age people were bifocal CTL or use monovision.
