mole on the right eye

dear sir,
My son is 20 years old. Since birth , I noticed a red thin stripe on his right eye. However, this birth mark grows . I have consulted a few opthalmologists but was undecided to do a surgery or not.  I am not sure which part of his mole grows on ? Is it on the cornea ? Attached herewith are photos taken on his eye. There are some points for concern. Firstly, to what extent is the risk of the surgery?  Secondly, how long is the recovery periods ? What speciality of the eye surgeon should I go to ?  I really appeciate and thankful for your help.

The most important thing is to get a definitive diagnosis. Only after that is done will a treatment be able to be suggested.

Next is seeing an Eye MD ophthalmologist. Ideally at a medical school.

My son is studying in the college. May I ask a few questions so that I know what to do next. I sincerely hope you can give me some guidance based on your expetise in this field.

1) Is the surgery a major one or minor one?
2) How long will the recovery period ? If it takes a long time, my son will have to  
    postpone his semester study.

suggest you go to medical school thtat  you can reach that has depart of ophthalmolog. Tell them you think you have a tumor on your eye (melanoma). Ask for emergency exam

That lesion looks to be on the conjuctiva/sclera. It is worrisome in that it is large, elevated, irregular borders, different tpes of pigmentation.  It could be a melanoma with malignant tendencies. It is vital to see a ophthalmologist that specializes in cornea/external dieases or an ocular ocologist-occuplastic surgeon.  In the USA find one a  www.aao.org    or ask your pediatrician. ACT NOW.  this could be very serious.
