I'm so glad you are getting some relief!
I use my drops every.day and have done so for a number of years, since we have year-round spring where I live. One friend has done the same. I have not read that there is any downside to it, since drugs in this class are not steroids.
I hope things continue to go well for you.
Thankyou so much for your reply! i went to the doctors yesterday and after i did some research on the two drops you mentioned and i found patanol eye drops here on prescription in australia, which contains the same active ingredient as pataday drops just in a two drops twice a day method because its only 1mg not 2.22mg like pataday, i have done 2 doses of the drops and on my lord they are awesome! the redness has settled right down much quicker than in the past! i have to thank you so much for this as i would of just gone in there been prescribed steroid drops and be stressing if i am damaging my eyes yet again for the future :( the doctor did refer me onto yet another specialist in regards to re using the drops either long term or just when it flares up but at least i know i'm getting somewhere with this finally after so many years of hearing "i'm not sure what is it, see this person and use these steroid drops" !! do you use your pataday drops long term with a daily dose or is it just during allergy seasons?
Sure looks like an allergic eye to me! Of course, I'm a patient, not a doctor.
Have you been prescribed any drops for eye allergies, things like Pataday drops or sodium cromolyn drops? These are not steroids, but compounds that sort of prevent allergic reactions from getting out of hand. You take them faithfully during long periods of time when you have learned you are likely to have trouble.
I'd suggest keeping a log for, let's say, three months, to see if there's any pattern to your problem. But do ask your docs about the drops I mentioned. I'm an allergic person, and I live in an area with plenty of pollen and no winter. Daily application of Pataday has been a godsend for me.
