You need to find out what exactly these "blood clots" are. Do you have retinal vein occlusion/blockage, where the blood is not flowing to all areas of the eye. Or do you have central neovascularization (CNV) where there are abnormal blood vessels growing in your eye and are leaking. Or is it something else?
Myopic macular degeneration is caused by pathological myopia you can search for more information here or on the web.

Go see an eye doctor! With that degree of nearsightedness and the fact that you've had retinal detachment in the past you should be visiting an eye doctor regularly. You may have myopic macular degeneration.
