I just had my IUI today and am officially in the 2ww!! This is my third back to back IUI so I've been getting shots daily from 6 November - very hard on my poor lil bum ;)
I'll be on hcg 1000 injections daily and progesterone suppositories 400mg each night.
My beta will probably be on 14/15 Feb.
In case it doesn't work (please God make it work, please, please, pretty please with sugar and honey on top) then I'll take a rest and maybe go for IVF after a month.
Just wanted to start a thread for all 2wwers so we can obsess over symptoms, share fears and concerns, and consider to hpt or not to hpt with each other.
I get very jittery towards the end of the 2ww and support from my friends on this forum has helped keep me sane thru the shots, scans, suppositories, tests, etc. Hope we can start a useful thread for everyone else in this 4th dimension...

Well, made it through the weekend... had my IUI on Friday at 3:30 (trigger shot on Thursday 1/28).  They want me to wait 16 days to have the bloodwork done, which puts me on Sunday, February 15th.  My husband and I might be planning a trip to Miami for that weekend, just to have something to look forward to and visit some friends.  Since the 16 day mark falls on a Sunday, do you think if I tested at home by then the trigger would be out of my system? How early do you test?

Do you ever feel sick to your stomach after IUI? I've been feeling pretty crummy the last 2 days. Had my IUI on saturday (1/30) Don't know if i'm coming down with something or if its my nerves.

I get to test on Feb 11th can't wait. I start progesterone supp tomorrow morning. A little nervous about that. How do you know how far to stick it in? My re told me to do it 30 min before I get up! How long do you lay there?

Sammy- you are still doing HCG injections? My re only had me do one.

Hi girls;) well, I got 10000 HCG this morning, had I think 5 follies, one may have began to O last night on her own;)
so I go to confirm O Wednesday morning, I guess the little buggers O at different times;) but I've been having pressure/slight pain since late yesterday afternoon & my nipples have been very sore since yesterday, now they're worse cuz of the trigger!  So, that's also why I think I O'd the biggy follie last night.

I bet my RE will put Tuesday 2/2 as O day, even thought I think it will all be done by tomorrow!  I'm thinking my beta will be on 2/15 or 2/16. It's gonna be tough YIKES;)

I'm going to try REALLY REALLY hard to survive this 2WW!  We still have to BD tomorrow & Tuesday;). A little tricky when we have a7, 11, & a 13& my older brother home!!!

I've heard that it takes 1 day per 1000 IU of hcg, so if you had a trigger of 10,000 IU it should be out of your system after 10 days. So you could definitely test then. Good idea to take some time out. Last IUI hubby and I went off for the new year and it was a relief to not think about all this stuff for 4 days.

I don't feel sick, just slight discomfort and lower abdominal pains for which I take painkiller and then its ok.
I put my suppository in every night just before going to sleep. I use an applicator, doc told me that a couple of inches in and it is fine.
I have to keep taking hcg as I have this disorder of the pituitary in which I don't produce any of the hormones required for conception and sustaining a pregnancy so I need the hcg in case of pregnancy and would probably get the injections daily for the first trimester at least, if I get pregnant hopefully. It *****, especially as I can't HPT and even the first beta is not conclusive as it could be high from the shots so I need a second beta to see if its doubled. But if I can get a healthy baby at the end of all this (or more than one :)) then it'll all be worth it, no?

My bbs are sore too... I don't know when I O'd... but I'm going for another IUI tonight in case it was later than expected.
And we didn't BD yesterday as DH was too tired and if he exhausted himself yesterday then his specimen for the IUI today would not be optimal. Maybe tomorrow after the IUI... I can't understand the life cycle of eggs and sperms, its too complicated for me :) we're just trying when we can.

Nice to have you all with me, would have gone insane if I couldn't share this with anyone. And I'm praying all of us get BFPs, wouldn't it be great :)

hi,i did my iui on 31st jan ,its my second iui, so m in the same boat as you all,hopefully will get  bfp on valentine's day :D,just a query....i was supposed to get injected on 30th evening,i went for the same and since i was feeling ovulation i asked my RE to check it,he did a scan and found out i just ovulated (2 good sized follies), i got my iui done next aft ....do i stand a chance or i missed the window (hopefully not)...

What is the normal amount of HCG that they inject? I just had a little syringe of Ovidrel.  I have no idea how much it was.... I guess I could check at Walgreens to see what the prescription was exactly.

Hello everyone!  I would like to join the 2wwers here.  I had my IUI done on 1/27/10 and my beta is scheduled for 2/10/10.  This is my 3rd IUI and I hope the saying is true....3rd times a charm!  I haven't really been feeling much but abdominal cramps lower and kind of all over.  I don't have sore bbs. yet which is weird.  This cycle has me worried though because I don't think my RE actually caught ovulation cause the morning of my IUI I always test to see if I get a + O, and it was negative.  My RE said it doesn't matter because I did the HCG trigger 2 days before the IUI and that makes me O.  I hope he is right.....but I have been BD everyday since the IUI to increase our chances....My fingers are X'ed.  I hope the 3rd will be the last.  I am really happy that we are all able to go through this 2ww together.....nice to be able to talk about our worries and feelings through the process!  Thanks Sammy for starting this thread!

I am also in the 2ww! I just had my IUI yesterday 1/31 and today 2/1. Going for blood work on 2/15! this is my third try as well. I'm hoping for the best. This time I had cramping and some spotting but none the first two times. Maybe that's a good sign for me?? I'm just trying to stay positive. After this we meet with our RE to re-evaluate and see what to do if this does not work. I may keep trying IUI for a while with more meds, not sure. Maybe we won't have to worry about it. :)  Good luck to everyone! Hoping for a BFP this time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sammy- that STINKS!  Have you gone to see an acupuncturist, or a holistic DR???  I bet there are natural ways that work to get your body to function properly;)  I would look into it!!!

Princess- ovidrel has quite a bit less HCG, I only know because I asked for that this time & they said no because it has less HCG???

Sinara- we are doing TI, & when I went yesterday, similar....it looks like my huge follie 23, had just O'd but we've BD a lot for us;). So I should be covered!!!

Love-this is the 3rd time for me doing injectebles too!!!!  Hopefully it will be the last for all of us:o)

And you never know, I have told the story of a friend of mine who went thru 4 IUIs and 17 IVFs and couldn't conceive but got pregnant after that naturally and now is the mom of a beautiful healthy girl - now she's 12! So there'a always hope. Praying for you too...

I'm not very knowledgeable about egg life and sperm life and all, but if your RE scheduled the IUI then he must know. I believe the IUI should ideally be 24-48 hours after the trigger shot, but as I said, my info on this is limited.

The trigger shot is either 5000IU or 10,000IU. I usually get 10,000 because of my hormonal deficiencies but then I keep getting small doses afterwards...

so you got 2 IUIs also, almost same as me only my doc kept mine 2 days apart. I wish I could understand better about this timing thing but I just have to trust the doctors, and more than that God...

I know it stinks but I haven't tried anything else yet. I;ve consulted REs, fertility experts and endocrinologists in several places and they all say I should be able to conceive with meds. So I'm trying it out...

First I want to wish all you guys LUCK... hopefully this will be your guys last 2ww...... as for me I am on a break, us showed to many follicles, and blood work was not high enough to swich to IVF.. so I have to sit out till AF comes then start, but I am trying on own... LOL even though she told me to use protection.. I AM NOT..  I will take consequences... lol so wish me luck .. and I wish alll of you LUCK>>>>> SSBD

Yeah why would we use protection if we are trying to have a baby. My doc put me on pelvic rest once and I was like... Ummm I'll take my chances! Thanks for the info about the hcg I'm goingvto check on it right now!

oops my bad. What I was going to say is I am 8dpo and have this burning on/off pain in my L side anybody have that experience? I just feel like it may be an ectopic.:sad

thanks....my iui was 12 hours after ovulation and i did not get any trigger shot..i O on my own just before getting the trigger....so dunno..but m still hoping to be lucky..

DOn't be sad. One thing I've learnt thru frequenting this forum is that different women have different experiences and one should just try to take it easy. Easier said than done, I know.

I'm on hcg 1,000 units and progesterone 400mg suppositories daily. Is anyone else using progesterone? Would you know if it is better to freeze them or to just keep them in the fridge?

Ok so this post may have TMI, so I apologise in advance and anyone not wanting to read the details can just skip...

Last night I was putting in my progesterone suppository. I had left it in the room for a couple of hours and was just procrastinating putting it in so it was room temperature by the time I got to it. Well it stuck to the applicator and came out! I tried again and it dislodged from the applicator without going in even an inch. So I had to push it in which was hard cause it had got stuck in some odd direction. I told myself in case I see that a lot of it has come out in the morning I'll put another one.
This morning... no significant remains of the suppository on my panty, but a pinkish spotting. Its so pink it almost looks artificial, like a dye!! And it can't be implantation as I'm just 3dpiui. Trying not to worry...
What do you think?

Did your RE tell you to put them in the fridge?  I also take the 400 vaginally, & I keep them in a droor in my bathroom.  I always have (been on them 3x's)  
When I was on crinone one time, I had a redish tint discharge, not sure what it was, but I do know that progesterone can irritate the cervix, so maybe that's why?   IDK.........

AFM; Okay, have any of you ladies just felt SUPER DUPER bloated after you O'd while on injectable's???   This is the 3RD time Ive been on Gonal, & I am SOOO bloated & have a bad stomach ache.  Not sure if it's something I ate, or the meds & my reaction etc....
I did have anywhere from 4-6 follies that O'd so maybe thats why?  My E2 was I'm sure between 700-800 @ O, so not super high?
I don't think it's OHSS, but maybe a mild case?
I did have 2 follies about 16mm today when I went in for my post O US.  I NORMALLY will ask more questions to my RE but didn't want to "push" it today ;)
But on Sunday right before my trigger my smallest follie was 15x15 then the next smallest was 17x15 so I really don't think it was either of those too?  What do you ladies think????
I'm supposed to start prog. tonight, but I'm gonna wait til tomorrow, my stomach feels to yucky right now ;-/
I should be fine since I started O'n between late Sat. night & last night.

Any thoughts?????

What is the progesterone suppository used for? I am using estrace (estrogen) 2 mg tablets inserted vaginally to continue to thicken my lining as the clomid thinned it out. Just curious as I see a lot of you are using it.

I think the progesterone is used to help with implantation and keep pregnancy.  I am on that as well....2x's a day 200mg.

My RE has you take them, just in case.......
Progesterone is the main hormone that sustains a pregnancy.  The follie (or follies) that O'd will turn into a corpus L (can't spell it!) & produce progesterone inside the ovary, & will continue to do so until the babies placenta is strong enough to take over, which is usually by 12 weeks of pregnancy.  It also helps w/thickening up the lining after the estrogen has peaked post ovulation.

Thanks for the message. My doc told me to keep them cold, in the fridge or freezer. I told the doc about the discharge, she says its ok.
The follie size doesn't seem too big for OHSS, or maybe there are many of them? Perhaps it is something you ate. Hope you're feeling better now. I had OHSS once and boy was I bloated! I had to keep my trouser buttons open and wear long shirts and people thought I was pg!
I was wondering if I should be tking estrogen also as I need all the hormones possibly required for a pregnancy... My doc never has progesterone or estrogen levels measured thru bw. Maybe he should?
