Can't Get Pregnant..Why? Feeling Frustrated

I am 35 and my husband is in his mid 40s. We've been trying for a year and a half and still not pregnant (no previous children). My gyno ran some tests and I look healthy. She said my estrogen was slightly high and my test results were indicative of mild PCOS. I've had my menses every month, though, and the ovulation kit has always indicated ovulation, so my doctors are not concerned. Also, my husband had a semen analysis and his results were healthy.

At this point I am getting frustrated and a little depressed at the end of each month. When we were first starting to try I was excited at the possible positive results at the end of the month, but now I have no expectations. I have no idea what could be wrong. Any ideas as to what might be happening or advice?

Thank you!!

I agree its time to go to a Specialist.  Gynos are great but they aren't dealing with fertility issues all the time and don't always know the best course of action to take.

I agree with you , fertility specialist work differently and get the root cause and analysis , GYn aalways say everything is fine as they don't diagnose in depth

I was on Clomid for 10 cycle.  It dont work.  If i had known earlier to just go to a fertility specialist, i will be able to cut my loss and heart break.  Do not waste time.  Fertility specialist will do a thorough fertility work up on you and your husband if needed.  Get a second opinion.  I will be on femara next.

Thanks for the helpful responses. Here's some additional info that I didn't bring up before: after 1 year of trying, my gyno put me on Clomid for 4 months, but that didn't work either. Recently, I did a little research and heard a Maca supplement could help. This is my second month trying it. Probably it's not a miracle product, but thought it couldn't hurt.

Have you gone to see a reproductive endocrinologist?  They do more extensive testing. Sometimes there is just no answer...frustrating I know.

Im 35.  I wasted 10 mths going to a gynae.  10 cycle of Clomid with one iui.  I finally had enough and made an appointment with the fertility specialist.  My advise to you.  Do not waste time.  Made an appointment.  It could take 2 mths to be seen by a specialist.  Like you, i went in for test even hsg.  Doc said everything was normal.  My specialist requested to see my test and told me my hsg was not normal.  2 docs said my hsg was normal and my specialist said likewise.  So he send me for an ultra sound.  Found out theres like some kinda mass on my right tube.  So i went for laparoscopy.  Infact got my ops done last week.  True enough.  My right tube was bad and i got scaring.  Got my bad tube out and he cleared the scaring. I will start trying on my next ovulation.  Good luck to you.
