I am very sad

I am very sad, I just got back from my 1st ultrasound (for IVF) and no follicles were measurable and none were even seen on my left ovary. The nurse told me not to be upset it is very early and she would call me in the afternoon with the results from my blood work but I can’t help being upset. Has this happened to anyone?

Cycle day 12 on meds for 11days my estrogen is at 389 and follicles sizes are 8 8 12 13 15 16. Looks like we may have a retrieval on Wednesday.. I am kind of scared. Also does anyone have any extra Endometrin inserts I could buy from them?

I will cross my fingers for you!  They may make it to 10 mm by Friday because they tend to grow 1-2mm/day...so try to stay hopeful!  What time was your u/s today?  In the morning or the afternoon?

I really, really hope you get good news on Friday.  Best of luck to you!  ;)

Thank to everyone who is helping me get thru this cycle. So Todays ultrasound was not the best:  3 follicles where found total. 1 at 8mm 2 at 6mm estrogen at 90 and progesterone at 58. My Dr. would like to see them all at 10mm by Friday or I will have to make a decision of what I want to do. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

I started my cycle with 225 Units of Follistim...it was basically nothing.  My ovaries hadnt developed any follicles and the little follicles that were produced were tiny.  My estrogen level was super low, i believe it was 44.  My doctor changed my cycle to 450 units of Follistim and the improvement was too low, therefore he changed it to 2 Menopur and 140 units of Follistim.  Finally on Sunday I had the extraction where 8 eggs were removed, 6 were mature and 5 were fertalized.  Tommorrow is my possible transfer ***crossing my fingers that everything goes ok****.  So don't worry it just takes time to get the combination of meds that your ovaries will respond to.  Good luck.

Sorry I am a little freaked out. I am on 225 Menopur and 225 Bravelle. This is my second round of IVF and I just thought the second cycle would be better than first time. In my first cycle only one follicle developed to 12 mm within 10 cycle days. So we decided to cancel the cycle. I am to go back on Wednesday this week.

What meds do they have you on and what dosage? I totally agree that it is very early still! No panicking allowed! When do you go back? I have only done injectibles with timed intercourse and had my first IUI this month so I am kinda clueless with IVF, but praying for you!! The girls on here who have been through IVF will really help! Good luck!!

I agree, day 4 of stims is still pretty early. I was looking back at the notes from my own IVF, and it looks like I had my estrogen checked on day 4, but no follicle check until day 6 of stims. Hopefully, you'll be able to see a lot more on your next ultrasound!
