I didn't even notice you were in special education :) I actually work at a juvenile detention center so we are year round. I took a month off though and came back on August 1st.
My garden didn't do to well either but hey, it was my first so expected that. I ended up with some great veggies, just not all that I hoped for. It is hard because we get some cold weather so I started it inside and most things didn't handle the transplant very well. I will do things differntly next year.
I am curious to find out about the different measures done on morphology!
Thanks for the friend invite. We seem to have some things in common, other than age, I too started my first garden this year! It didn't work out so wonderfully though. :-) Also, we are both in special education. Has your year started already?
Perhaps we are comparing apples and oranges when it comes to the morphology testing. I've heard that different labs use different measures, so it could be simply that.
Perhaps we'll look into the fertilaid too. The name sort of sells it huh!
Well, best wishes for a successful month!
Thanks for the info. I am unsure how the morphology works. They said that it was 22% but when they do the other test on morphology (called something different like true morphology or something, cant remember right now) it was 4% and they said that had to be 14% to even do an IUI. I will look into this more when we go back for another visit. I ordered the fertilaid and we started taking it tonight. I bought him multi vitamins last week and vitamin C to get the ball rolling. Not sure if he should continue taking multi vitamins as well as the fertilaid or not but I may have him do this for a couple of days. They said the fertilaid really is like a multi vitamin that has everything they need in it. Please keep me posted on how things turn out for you. I understand the trying anything!
His morphology was 22% and they consider that low? My husband's is 1%. Our RE told us that a sample of 4% or more is normal. I was just trying to find what the facts are and came across this website http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semen_analysis It also quotes 4%. I referred to their source (World health organization) and did see that 4% is at the lower limit of what's considered normal.
I have never heard of fertilaid, but I suppose as long as your doc agrees that it won't hurt anything, go for it. It may take some time though to see improvement, as I've read that it takes 90 or so days for sperm to be made from start to finish. My husband has just started taking something called Psycnogenol, which is a dietary supplement. Our doc didn't seem to excited about it. He told us a multi-vit has really been the only thing with research suggesting improvement. Limiting caffeine, exercise, and taking vit C have been other things I've heard about. Recently a friend of mine said a pharmacist told her to start eating organic eggs and drinking organic milk. She got pregnant. Apparently he told 4 others the same thing and they too got pregnant! So, it's sitting in our refrigerator as I speak. Sometimes, we try anything!
SSBD to you!!
