Flying in Early Pregnancy to Vegas...

Hi Ladies,

I need to ask your advice!!.... My husband is planning a trip for his mom to go to Las Vegas the weekend after the 4th of July.... if my IUI goes well (it is scheduled for this Thursday)  then it would be a couple days after a hopefully positive pregnancy test.

Do you think it's safe to fly that early... do you think it's safe to go to Vegas as long as I don't stay in the smoky casino's all day long??? I like to gamble and we will probably do a lot of walking.  There is also a spa and outside heated pool....

Please pass your advice this way, I can't really decide what to do... to go with them, or stay home!!!

Just relax and enjoy the vacation. Take your prenatal pills and eat healthy. Vegas is really hot in July-August, so stay hydrated. PLEASE!

Enjoy your vacation.

OK... so the trip is coming up, and I found out I am pregnant!!! I'm just really worried b/c I've been having these pains (I have an ultrasound with my doc in the am tomorrow).... We are supposed to leave on Thursday, and I am going to make sure everything is OK to go before making a final decision.

I'm just so nervous about everything.. I'm wondering if this trip would help me relax and enjoy these first few weeks of pregnancy... I dunno!!

The pool water is heated but it can't be that warm, I'm sure a shower is much much warmer. Vegas is pretty much smoking everywhere, but I can try to stay out of it as much as possible.

Flying is safe!  Don't worry and enjoy, the trip should be good, especially if you can relax and have fun.

flying is fine until your third trimester.
i'd stay out of the smoking areas (you;ll probably have major smell aversions anyhow)
heated pools are fine-hot tubs are not.
as far as physical activity goes, you can do whatever you did prepregnancy in the first trimester.  so no worries about walking around...
good luck!

Awesome, thank you.  I know that my sister flew in early pregnancy, but I was more concerned about the casinos and smoke and things like that.

Yeah, it should be fine. You may not be all sparky and bubbly, due to the hormones all over the place but in terms of flying, it should be fine. Go and enjoy! Have a good time. It might actually help you relax :)
