HCG Levels/HELP

Hello Everyone... I just found out last week I am pregnant.. When they did my first Blood work it was 140 which confirmed I was.. Then I went in on that monday adn went to 540 I went in today for blood work and its 660, nurse had said to stop taking my prenatal vitamins and watch for Cramping or Bleedingm Ok so are you telling me I am having a M/S? She said to them HCG level should be doubled? Well she is going by the books and thinking it should be doubled. I am in-tune with my body so needless to say i was very upset and been crying  :crying:  how do you want me to take that? She had said that more than likely its not going to  be a healthy pregnancy :( I go in Sunday for more blood work and than they will see.. Anyone experience this.. Please let me know.. I am thinking Ok my levels arent dropping,,

Oh okay, so they didn't see anything in the gestational sac.  Well, it could go two ways, it could just be too early, or it really could be non-viable.  I would definitely check out that website bny807 suggested.  I don't want to give you any false hope, but I also believe in hanging on to hope as long as possible.  God is a miracle worker and He knows what is best.  If this pregnancy doesn't work, maybe it means the baby wouldn't have been right.

I'm glad you have more another appointment on Thurs.  I don't understand why you can't take your prenatal vitamins.  I take them all the time, even when I had a lap surgery a few months ago.  To me it just doesn't make sense, but I am no doctor.  Relax, pray and wait it out.  I'll be praying for you!

Ok Thanks so much.. I am confused she is saying the same thing they had told you. I am right with you I dont want to terminte a healthy pregnancy I want to listen to them and make a decision, but its tough. I am not going to rush and make a decision quickly, maybe I can weight it out and see what happens.. I dont want to be in pain or cause any damage but I would like to know what the deal is. Fertility is stressful enough and my husband has no sperm so that makes it much more difficult and expensive, we have to use Donar Sperm, here i go tell everyone and get excited then this.. I am sure its common but stinks..

They didnt see a Sac at least a Yolk Sac but there is a gestintial sac there and its in my uterus.. They cant tell me straight if its in my tubes then I know I can make a easy decision. They did more blood work and I should know this afternoon. I do have another Vagional ultrasound on thursday and more blood work. But the problem is my husband has NO sperm we are usoing donar sperm. I had my IUI on July 9 so June 25 was my last period but I should only be a few weeks. They say it wasnt going to be halthy because my levels arent increasing and doubling day by day but they are increasing. What is a fetal pole? She said there is nothing in the gestinal sac I assume its to early and they cant tell yet, U/S tech said the numbers dont add up meaning that they are saying I am 5-weeks but the sac says otherwise?? I dont know what to think or do, I cant t ake my vitamins, no lifting nothing just relax.. uugghhh

Gosh i'm so sorry you have to go through this!    If they did in fact see the gestational sac in your uterus (that would mean unless there is a second one that you don't have an ectopic)... When I was going through everything recently, they initially at 6.5weeks found a gestational sac, though it was smaller than it should be but it was in the uterus.. they said it was not going to be a healthy viable pregnancy and just to wait, no need to do a D&C.. it took me a little over 3 weeks to miscarry, but by then we had gotten a second ultrasound 10- days after the first which made the world of difference as far as peace of mind.. as hard as the wait and miscarrying was, i like that my dr didn't rush me into a D&C.. seeing that next ultrasound can mean the world... at one point they were concerned for an ectopic as well, but they say those normally dont' start causing any probs till 6 or 7 weeks and they wanted to wait to see if i had pains or symptoms before doing anything, since we had tried so hard to get pregnant, the last thing they wanted to do was end a potentially healthy pregnancy.... So it is possible that you can still have a heathy pregnancy and carry to term, there are lots of success stories out there!  check out misdiagnosedmiscarriage.com.. i liiked reading the stories of success/hope during that rough time!    GOOD LUCK and i'm praying that you have a healthy litt one in there!

Hi BabyBaw,
So the pregnancy is in the uterus and your doc says its not where it is supposed to be?  But it isn't in your tubes if it is in your uterus.  What else did they say when they said it wasn't going to be healthy?  Did they not see the fetal pole or something?

You count how many weeks along you are based on your last monthly period so it would right, you are five weeks, give or take a few days.

Did they do another beta hcg?  I would advise you to wait. You need to see what your hcg levels are doing and seeing as it is so early, they may not be able to see anything inside the gestational sac yet. That is very common.  Don't do anything like D & C yet.   Try not to stress and just wait for your next ultrasound and bloodwork.  Did they schedule one for you?  If not, you should probably do that. Don't worry just yet, just take everyday that you're pregnant as a blessing. HUGS!!!
