IUI

I spoke with a nurse at my REs office today about getting things going for the IUI. They said that they would do a trigger shot and I would ovulate between 24 & 36 hours later but they wouldn't do the IUI until 36 hours after the trigger. I always thought the sperm needed to be there before the egg, wont there be a possibility of missing it? I'm confused. I plan on asking them when I go in but I just wondered if anyone else questioned their REs. All of this plus worrying about work letting me off to do this is stressing me out!!!

Isn't that the best. We actually have lettuce that cam back this spring! We had it covered because it had gotten cold before the lettuce was gone last winter and when we pulled back the cover, there is was!! It was pretty cool. LOVE strawberries, thinking about planting them this year also. Enjoy your fresh veggies! I'm jealous that you already have yours out! :)

Yes we have a massive veggie garden (with some strawberries).  We went a little overboard for first timers, but its so cool to go pick a salad right before dinner and not let any go to waste.

I love gardening! But it's still too cold for one here :( Hopefully in a couple of weeks though, which would be pretty good timing. Do you grow vegetables or flowers? I love to grow my own food, but I have flowers also. I can't wait for warm weather!

We planted a garden and have been watching it grow.  It's been a good distraction!

I'm trying. I've added some extra yoga classes and I am thinking about doing a massage after.

I can imagine - been there many, many times!  Make sure you have lots to keep your mind off of it in the 2WW.

well even so - the egg lasts 12 - 24 hours and they're putting the sperm right there where the egg lands....so if you've ovulated then the sperm will be right there and ready!

I will do the IUI this cycle, I'm just waiting on AF to start after going of progesterone. I don't know about him yet, the RE said they would just check him when he gave his "donation". I just thought 36 hrs after the trigger seemed odd since they said I'd O 24-36 hours after the trigger.

when you do iui, they put the washed sperm directly into the uterus so they are waiting for the egg.  they will continue to swim up the fallopian tube too.

you should bd the night that you get the trigger (and several times before that) so that there are also some waiting...if there are no male fertility issues.

good luck!
