35 and concerned about fertility

I am 35 years old and just received my negative HPT today after my first IUI.  I am concerned with my age that I will not be able to successfully get pregnant and sustain it.  I believe my FSH was 10.3 and LH was 3.6 back in July.  I had a lap done in August to remove a blood filled cyst on my left ovary.  I was told everything looked fine though I do have 4 small fibroids that should not interfere with implantation.  I was pregnant once 15 years ago and decided (stupidly) to terminate it.  So I know I can get pregnant but that was when I was 20.  We are doing IUI with donor sperm because my husband had a vasectomy 14 years ago, this seemed to be the most cost effective way to try  and get pregnant.  I was told the day of my IUI that the ds had a 49% motility and 60 million count.  This cycle was done with clomid and I produced 3 follicles on my right ovary.  I got a positive LH surge on the OPK and went in the next day and had the IUI.  They did have some problems getting my cervix to cooperate and finally had to use a clamp to pass the tube for the IUI.  Obviously I am very discouraged right now but I am ready to move on to the next cycle.  So I guess my other question would be with the second IUI is there anything that should be done different to help the whole process.  We have 2 vials left and want to use them the best way possible becasue they are not cheap.  I am worried doing just another round of clomid will not be enough.  IVF is definitely an option for us if that would give us the best chances but we would have to wait till after the first of the year for financial reasons.  Any feedback or suggestions would be great.  Thank You.

Hi,
I am 36 now and have a 3 year old daughter who was conceived with no help.  We then tried for a year and nothing.  We tried Clomid first and then Clomid and IUI and still nothing.  All of my tests cam back normal except I have one blocked tube which was there when we conceived our daughter 3 years ago.  So we decided to just go straight to IVF which would give us the best chance.  I produced 39 eggs and 27 fertilized.  I was worried about age to but it is not that big of a deal at 35.  I am now 16 weeks pregnant.  So it can happen, just don't give up hope and stay positive.  I know sonetimes it is easier said then done.  There are so many stories on here with so many women of different age groups getting pregnant.  Good luck!  It will happen.

I am 35 and I got my first bfp this year.  IVF definitely gives you a better chance of success although trying injectables+IUI before moving to ivf may be a good way to proceed since it's less invasive than ivf.  For me, only ivf worked but I have infertility issues that make IUIs not very effective.

Good luck to you!
