2WW

I know I'm a little late- but can I join?! ;-)

I started my 2ww, well, I guess not yet, but I am guessing it's coming. I started my Clomid (50mg, days 5-9, first cycle) on 6/11 and my last pill was Sunday. Today is day 12 and they told me to start testing with OPK's today. I'm telling you- if my OPK was a pregnancy test-OMG- I"d be SOOOOOOOOOOO happy!  There was a line in the window that has always been empty when testing for what we want. Of course, at this point, it's a color comparison [rolls eyes]. Lighter..... anyway... I've noticed watery CM, and I'm just worried that it's the hostile kind because it's not stretchy like egg whites.  There is an abundance...and an increased sex drive-I'm not going to lie. I'm just worried about the consistacy. When I did the hormonal test before I went on the Clomid they said I looked like a good candidate with my numbers, and my husband- well, 425 million....I think I married Superman. Anyway, if you read my profile, it's obviously my fault about this whole thing, so I'm just looking for advice from anyone who's been through this. I'm anticipating my 2ww during our vacation. (6/17-7/6- which if all goes well, hopefully we can find out at the later end of vacation!!) Wow. sorry for rambling....has anyone else ever been like this?!

Eggwhite cm is thick and boggs down the sperm to hold them inside the cervix until the egg is released. It is typically seen starting a few days b4 o.(It does make appearances at other times which can be deceiving) Once the egg is released the cm thins to watery and actually opens up little "channels" for the sperm to swim up to meet the egg. The uterus actually "undualtes" to help advance the little guys faster. After that it dries up and becomes sticky, signaling o is over.

There is a great video that you can actually watch it happening on PBS. It is titled "Life's Greatest Miracle". It is a must see for anyone ttc. It is amazing footage from conception to birth. It can be watched right on the Nova/PBS website.

Welcome!  It sounds like everything is right on track for you this month.  As far as your CM, it's supposed to progress from creamy to watery to egg whites, but for some people, they never get to egg white and their most fertile is the watery, so you should be fine.  There is a thread called "2ww Buddies Will Get Lucky" , so if you post there, you should find a lot of support, the ladies there are wonderful.  Good luck to you.
