Ureaplasma infertility

Hello,

I have been recently been tested positive for Ureaplasma. The reason my Dr. tested me for this was because I am a 23 year old Female and my husband and I have been trying to conceive for about 2 years or so now. I was pregnant once before and I had a miscarriage which it was actually considered a chemical pregnancy. My Dr.  says ureaplasma cause infertility is this true? Also he has prescribed me with Doxycycline 100mg 2 capsules a day for 7 days. I've been reading a lot online and everywhere I go people say that it works  but then they say that it takes them months before they can conceive or sometimes they never can get rid of this bacteria. My question is what are the chances of me being able to conceive with this bacteria? And does it really cause infertility issues?? And if I cant get rid of this bacteria will I ever be able to conceive? Thank you for you all your help!

Yessenia.

i had been infertile for years, 10 to be exact.  i was tested for ureaplasma, which came back positive.  both my husband and i were treated and within one month we were pregnant with our first child.  three years later, we decided we wanted another child.  without being retested, my doctor prescribed us the same medication and with 6 months we had achieved pregnancy number two.  anyone who has been diagnosed with unexplained infertility, please ask your doctor to test for UREAPLASMA.  this can lay dormant in the system sometimes, so checking periodically is a good idea.  good luck!

Hi went I had went through all my fertility testing she testing me for the Ureplasma and tested positive. Both me and my husband had to take pills for a few days and no sex, I was explained that it wasnt a STD it was just a bacteria. I am sure if its untreated it can cause infertility. I am pregnant now with my first and didnt have any type of damage or anything, now after we didnt have sex for a while and took the pills I went back a month later and it was gone.. Hope that helps
