What kind of lube is safe when TTC?

I have been reading that your typical lubricant as well as saliva is not good to use when trying to conceive as it hurts the sperm quality and the atmosphere for the sperm.

Well, that just doesn't work for me. I'm one of those women that caries the Sahara down there and I have to have something. BUT, I have been TTC for 19 months now and I do not want to do ANYTHING to prevent it from happening.

Any suggestions?

Thanks to alll!

After lots of research the only sperm friendly lube that I found was Pre-seed which I believe you can only buy online. We used it in last month while ttc and loved it because it didnt have that sticky feeling that sometimes lubes have. And better yet we got our BFP a few weeks later. It's definitely worth a shot!! Good luck and sending lots of baby dust your way.

I agree with GIGI, I was TTC for 3 years, and got some Preseed at babycenter. com and conceived the second month using it. Its supposed to make the PH levels in your body better for the swimmers to survive in, and has proteins in it that help them live longer. Plus it feels soo natural and close to the "eggwhite cm" you're supposed to get before you ovulate. I got the tube with applicators for I believe like $15. I advise you to use half a tube (around 3cc) its not too much, just the perfect amount, in my opinion. Good luck to ya! :0)

I have actually read that Canola Oil works well.  It was tested and was not al all detrimental to the sperm the way all the personal lubricants you can buy.  PreSeed also works well but costs much more than Canola Oil.

I dont know but my R.E. said aqualube is supposed to be okay. Believe it or not, I did get pregnant while using it. It did end in a miscarriage but the M/C was related to my cycles not the lubricant.

My advice would be to try a product called PreSeed.  It is designed especially for use by women who are trying to conceive.  I beleive that it can be bought in some drug stored in the U.S., but most people just buy it online.

It's pretty good because it can be applied inside well in advance - so you dont have to stop in the middle of "the action" and put it in.

Best of luck to you!
