An exam for a varicocele is not that costly, I don't think. It might be worth ruling out, since it is not hard to fix. Good luck.
I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. Life can be very frustrating and upsetting at times. I'll be praying for you and your husband that he finds a good job soon, that you guys are able to find a solution to your fertility issues and ultimately have a baby:-)
Just know you're not alone and that you have a support group here with people that understand.
i am so sorry to know about the insurance difficulties. i understand life is so complicated; how old are you? hope your husband gets a job with a good insurnace soon and then could go to urologist and then to an RE. an IUI might be helpful too. which is lessthan 1500 dollars as i heard of.
but dont loose hope and dont be depressed.
he wasnt checked at first because he wasnt able to go to the doctor with me because he has been attending school to get his certification to be a coal miner.we cant afford ivf and all that stuff, plus theres nobody in wv that does it.he cant go to a urologist until he starts work and gets insurance.
The other thing to check is that sometimes a man who has what is in essence a varicose vein in the scrotum (called a varicocele) can come up with a 0 sperm count, but if the varicocele is fixed, he can have a normal sperm count after that. He should be evaluated further to find out why the 0.
Yes! Definitely go to a GOOD RE and talk about doing IVF with ICSI. It IS possible for you guys!
Best of luck!
dear friend
ideally you both could have been evaluated in the very beginning to know where the issue is. its ok. bygones are bygones. you know what my husband is detected ith 0 sperm too; we repeated 3 sperm tests; we did scans for him; and many other blood tests; finally; we got to know that even though semen may not have any sperm; there are sperm extraction techniques today; they can pokea needle inside and can get sperm from inside too; sometimes there could be blocks and sperm may not be coming out with ejaculate. so dont loose hope. also; my husband had no sperm and 0 motility; still my reproductive doctor collectd his semen and then they add a chemical to it and then they found that there are 20 sperms motile with the help of the chemical; so never ever loose the hope. with those 20 i am starting my ivf in this cycle.
this is called icsi ivf where they inject sperm into the egg; they collected my husbands sperm and froze it already; he gave semen twice to the hospital for freezing; they call it slow freezing andit is a good technique.
also he used a medication calls MFS coast re productive for sperm enhancement; he has quit smoking alchohol; and started taking proper diet.
sometimes there could be more white blood cells in the sperm; he also used to drink pomogranate juice for some time.
so dont loose hope darling. god is great. miracles come our way. please dont feel sadand dont make your husband feel bad. cheer up.
