thanks for your reply hun,i have got pco thats why im on metformin,
Clomid is the first line of attack against infertility for many women who have problems with ovulation.
Metformin is also used to treat PCOS and Adrenal Hyperplasia in women suffering from infertility. It works to combat insulin resistance, a common symptom of PCOS. It also helps to decrease DHEA, a hormone made by the adrenal glands, as well as to suppress testosterone production. I have a high level of DHEA and testosterone, but don't fall into any clinical diagnosis. My doctor just started me on Metformin due to this and a recent pregnancy loss. I am hoping the Metformin will get my imbalance under control and help me to sustain a pregnancy to term. I have been googling it and going on discussion boards for infertility, and many women have gotten pregnant very soon after starting it, so yes, you can get pregnant while on Metformin! Many doctors will tell you to keep taking it throughout your first trimester as it is thought that it can help reduce miscarriage rates.
thank you for your reply.
Clomid increases your chances of pregnancy but it is not 100% proof. Also, some women do not respond to clomid as well as others.
I hope clomid works for you.
p.s. If clomid does not work for you in 3 cycles you need to try another treatment. Injectables and injectables + IUI are typically the next steps.
