I have about 10 fibroids. 3 of them size 4-6cm, the rest are 1-3cm. My first and forth IVF was failed, second and third were result in the tubes and my son is 5 month next week with the 5 IVF. Two REs suggested me to remove and my RE who did the second to fifth IVF said NO. It depends on the location, your age also need to concern. Second/third opinion is worthy.
Not many people got BFP on the first IVF, only 30-40% chance to get pg on each IVF anyway.
the answer is "maybe"
i had 3 and had them removed prior to starting my first IVF cycle.
in my case, i think it was a part of the problem since i had 3 early m/c prior and my first IVF cycle after the surgery worked.
it depends on location and size of the fibroids and where the embryo wants to implant in relation to it.
so it may be worth discussing removal with your doctor.
in my case, it was a simple procedure that involved brief anesthesia and I was able to resume normal activities the next day without any problems.
