I had an urea breath test for helicobacter detection yesterday and when I got the first drink which is supposed to be a bitter liquid containing citric acid (just for the control drink), I noticed it tasted like simplle water till the last sip and then suddenly I tasted the powder of citric acid which was all in the bottom un-dissolved. I told the lady it feels like she hasn’t mixed the powder to dilute with the water and I just dramk a glass of pure water instead. Then she took the rest of the powder in the bottom and added an inch of water to it and I drank it (it burned my throat a lot because it was way more concentrated then it is normally supposed to be if one dissolves it as instructed in the description. My concern is that normally we are not allowed to drink water before this test to avoid false negative tests but because of this mistake I basically just drank a full cup of pure water before drinking the actual cotric acid. Should I try to repeat the test in case it’s negative or is it still ok?
