I forgot to mention, I had developed Barrett's Esophogas, a situation where the cells are changing shape, form and function. That's another reason to aggressively deal with an active GERD situation that isn't responding to medications.
Hi...may I ask how long have u had this issue?
Have u modified ur diet and lifestyle to help calm it all down?
If not, u may want to try that first....and there is a non surgical procedure that may help...and I would try it first if u r a candidate for this method.....but , some chiropractors can manipulate
the hernia so it is not affecting u as it is now.
Something to consider, and the surgery for Hiatal hernias does not always provide the end result we seek...so do consider it long and hard, and see if u have other options first.
Please keep us posted

I had a Nissen Fundoplication surgery about one month ago, and it totally corrected the acid reflux, I'm very happy I had it done. I'm following diet directions carefully afterwards, that's the hard part, but I am most pleased. Pick a surgeon who has done many surgeries. Best wishes.
