Hi....I would have to ask u this, if u consider it chronic, y would u add more acidic to the issue...I know u love ur coffee but it is something that can cause more acid.....
To know y, u have to look at ur lifestyle and ur overall health and family history....only ur Dr can dx the root cause...it may be a hiatial hernia, gall bladder,....who knows...see a GI Dr and ask him these things...and review ur diet and lifestyle...keep in mind stress can add to this and make it worse.

I agree with Selma, you need to talk to your doctor.
I have a love of coffee and had both stomach and acid reflux problems, but I found a way to have my coffee. You might try this...
Grind about two handfuls of coffee and put them in a double layered of coffee filters, and place that in a sieve. Pour about four cups of cold water into the filter, it takes some time to do so without overfilling the filters. Collect the filtered liquid when the brewing is complete, and refrigerate it. The next morning, put about a tablespoon of of the concentrated liquid in hot water, and enjoy. I found that hot water during the brewing cycle released the acids that hurt my stomach, but cold-brewed coffee didn't affect me at all. This is an old Norweigen method, and it worked for me.
