can my acid cause my distive system to deterriorate

for the last two months i have been suffering from rising acid. i then started to have digestive problems (in that my body wont digest anything properly), bloated stomach, on/off constipation and fatigue.

i finally went to the doctors and i was prescribed Lansoprazole for my acid...im 1week into the course and its getting better.  i was also tested for helicobacter pylori, which came back negative!!

I am still suffering with my digestion, im starting to become depressed over it....my stomach wont digest any food properly, my tummy is so swollen that i look pregnant (i had a pregnancy test which was negative), im constipated and when i eventually do have momement, im passing thru food that i ate a couple of days ago!

i am at a total loss and i am desperate to get back to my old self....please please please help.

i should also mention that i am bulimic and have been for over 8 years, but not once have i suffered from anything like this.

I agree u need to talk to ur dr...u may want to get a PH test done...sometime u can feel like u have too much acid when in fact u have too little and a probiotic may be helpful.

Yes it can...sorry. Get checked for G.E.R.D.
I go through stages where I look prego too. I also suffer from I.B.S., so I'm not certain which of these makes the food come out undigested...You could be checked for that too.
I.B.S makes you go through stages of constipation.
Sounds like your body is no longer making enough acid though...if it's not breaking the food down properly.
You just may need to adjust the dosage.
Sorry if this all sounds confusing, but because I have both problems I'm having a heck of a time trying to figure out which one causes what. lol
Bulimia can definitely cause stomach problems...lining issues. My friend is bulimic and she has wrecked her stomach and esophagus from the disease...it took 20 years to catch up to her though...but it did catch up.
