I will see my GI doctor on Wednesday and I do want to ask for an endoscopy. I just got back some blood tests from a naturopathic doctor I saw and he believes my throat issues are because I have an infection on my thryoid! I'm going to take the nutritional supplements he recommended for 6 weeks and get retested again. I hope that's all it is!
My GERD sent me to the hospital with "pneumonia". Acid was getting into my lungs which initially caused a raspy voice. I was told to take Gaviscon chew tabs just before bedtime (OTC) and raise the head of my bed so gravity would hold the acids down, and to take a proton pump inhibitor prior to breakfast. I no longer have the cough or raspyness, it all cleared up!
Hi April......mayb u developed a allergy to mold...with the leaves falling at this time of yr.....mayb it is as simple as that....or as I may have mentioned on an earlier post...that reflux can affect the vocal cord......so until ur visit.....keep sleeping on an incline.....avoid all the foods u know r triggers......
Chew more gum....no mint....but gum can help the natual enzimes to be produced in ur saliva to help with the acids.
Also if nexium isn't working ask to try something else......I know how a med can work fine then stop working....so u may have to try diff ones..... I believe nexium is a PPI, so ask about H2 blockers like pepcid.

Hi, I had a lot of symptoms that indicated allergies, but I knew that wasn't right. An I also felt like choking or my throat closing so they said that sounds like globus. Then the endoscopy, biopsy and blood test indicated celiac disease. So ask the doctors to check for everything they can because sometimes your symptoms say one thing when is actually something else. I have gerd and Nexium doesn't work for me.
