Constant Stomach Pain 5 days and counting

I have had pain in my stomach for the past 5 days. It is between the navel and bottom of ribcage in the center. It hurts when walking up stairs or sitting in a car that dips on uneven roads. The pain is about a 5 on scale 1-10. Only 2 things make the pain worse. Immediately after eating the pain intensifies no matter if i am sitting down or standing up.  Also I get a sharp pain when I have the feeling of about to burp.

I have tried gas pills, charcoal supplement, tylenol, 24 hour fast w/ only water. Nothing has worked. I have noticed that Tums can tone down the sharp pains but does not take the pain completely away.

I want to know if its serious enough to go to doctor now or can I wait. My health insurance starts on the first of March. And I think I can handle the pain as long as it doesnt get worse. Any suggestions of what is causing this will be helpful.

If it gets worse when you eat it could be something like gallstones. But it would be hard to say for sure. If you are going to try and hold off until March, I'd say make an appt with a GI now (they sometimes take weeks to see).
I'd also suggest starting a very bland diet. Steamed veggies, steamed chicken. Try not to have any fats, grains, carbs or dairy as those are the hardest things to digest. Hopefully a bland diet will help ease the pain.
