Intermittent, strong diarrhea for past month.

I have been experiencing on and off diarrhea for the past 3-4 weeks.  I have also had some nausea and vomitting, but the diarrhea is the main concern.  It seems to occur after more interesting meals (rich or spicy) but a soft serve cone has done it, too (and I am not lactose intolerant at all).  My primary care MD had me go for a gall bladder ultrasound, which was normal.  Last year, I had quite a work up done due to chest pain that was not cardiac in nature.  In that, my ultrasound was normal, but my HIDA revealed an ejection fraction of 16%.  The GI doctor felt my sympoms were not "gallbladdery enough" to warrant taking it out- which was fine with me!  I cannot return to him, as we moved to a new state.  Any thoughts? This diarrhea is totally out of control when I get it- I have had public accidents.  I find myself second guessing all my food choices due to this, and have lost about 8 pounds in the past two weeks.

Biliary sludge is a dense bile, it is actually a pre-form of gallstones. This sludge may cause the same symptoms like stones, but sludge itself may be easilly missed with imaging investigations.

Foul smelling stool is VERY probably from excessive fats in the stool. Such stool floats, it is whitish, foamy, and sticks with the toilet. So, maybe next time peek a little....and then have a STOOL FAT TEST to confirm it.

You mention that you get this after eating most times?

Look up Habba Syndrome, or mention it to your doctor.

Good luck this is one possible outcome.

Brown, I guess.  I hate to look!  It smells awful( as small children have announced in public bathrooms)!
My doctor is sending me for a new HIDA, as the other one was from last year.
Thanks for the input.  I did not know they ultrasound could miss stones.
What is biliary sludge?

16% of ejection fraction indicates a gallbladder problem. Ultrasound doesn't show small gallstones and biliary sludge in many cases.

What is the color of stool?
