I did try going gluten free for a couple of months. I admit it, it did help a minimal amount. It didnt help enough to keep going on with the diet. I did love the weight loss though :)... I dunno... i've delt with this pain for oh gosh 15 yrs now... i guess i'll just have to live with it
Have you been tested for celiac? It can cause all of those symptoms.
I went to the ER in April for severe upper left quadrant pain. They did a CT and an EKG. Told me there was nothing wrong with me and started to discharge me. I then had a pancreas attack. They couldn't figure it out so they stuck me in an ambulance and sent me to another hospital. I spent the night only to be told they couldn't find anything wrong.
I have had stomach aches my whole life, depression, fatigue, milk allergy, low thyroid function, and now osteopena at 37 years old. I was tested twice for celiac and both negative but after having doc after doc tell me there's nothing wrong with me, I removed gluten from my diet. I saw a huge improvement after a week and every week after that was better.
Hi Cassie. I usually have pain in my middle & upper left quadrant of my abdomen.
I also have hypothyroid (treated with synthroid). I know that the thyroid problem can make you tired or feel like you have less energy. As for the stomach pain, I have several digestive illnesses, including Sphincter of the Oddi Dysfunction. I also have I.B.S. & rarely have a normal BM. When I'm having the pain, I become exhausted. I sleep a lot when I'm not feeling well. SOD might be something to look into or even simply IBS. I hope you find out what is ailing you! I went through 3 years of testing just to figure out what all was wrong in my case - so don't get discouraged. It took a few second opinions but there are answers if you keep looking for them! Good luck & let us know!
Thank you for the response linda. I also had irregular heart beats but all the tests came back normal. I have thought about the vagus nerve but i'm not sure it thats my problem. Im for sure not a cheerleader :). By the way what is "implemens"?
Hi, I have a 16 yr old granddaughter named Cassidy Brooke. We took her to the ER a couple of wks ago with the same symptoms and they thought it was inflammation under her ribs and gave her anti-inflammatory medication IV. She got better, much to the surprise of all of us, which is great but she still suffers with the same fatigue and just generally feeling bad. A few months ago she was diagnosed with low iron and took pills for that. Then, also, she got that new "implemens" implanted in her arm but even before all this she had had bunion surgery on her left foot, was in surgery forever and when she came out, she was white as a sheet so we don't really know what all happened in there. After that, which was last Dec, she has had some irregular heartbeats and fast then slow pulse, so it could be cardiac-related. None of the Dr's seem to know. The only other thing, she went to the Dr prior to the ER visit and she was told her spleen was a little enlarged and did a mono test which was negative, so go figure. This is a really good website, as I'm sure you are realizing. Good Luck! Oh, also my granddaughter is a cheerleader, maybe her vagus nerve is acting up. Might be something to check out. Linda
