Endoscopy-Nodule in the gastroesophagel junction

I've had a null pain in upper left side of my stomach for years.  The pain comes and goes and I've never been able to trace it to something in particular.  After so many years of just ignoring the annoying pain I was sent to do an endoscopy.  The paper given to me at the procedure said they found the following:

Nodule in the gastroesophageal junction (biopsy)
Friability and erythema in the antrum compatible with gastritis (biopsy)

The Doctor came to see me when the procedure was done and said they found a Hernia and also some redness found.  She said biopsy was conducted.  When I mentioned to the nurse about the Hernia she said "that's not what she wrote here" and explain some of the symptoms of the habitual hernia which I clearly don't have.  She said she was going to double check to make sure the Doc didn't forget to write about it but by the time she came back I forgot about it and she didn't say anything.  I'm more concern with the nodule in the GEJ.  There's very little I find in Google when searching that particular phrase but whatever comes up is about cancer.  Does anyone know what this is about?  I'm really worried since I don't go back for the results for 3 more weeks and is a bit nerved wrecking not to know what it could be. :(  Please any information will be greatly appreciated! Thanks-

Hi Caryopteris,

Thanks for the reply.  I'm also hoping is benign and nothing to worry about.  If you find or know anything else that I can reasearch in the meantime let me know.  These will be the longest 3 weeks of my life.  I'm trying to change the appt. to an earlier date.  I'll keep you posted.

It could be benign, but they won't know until the biopsy results come back.  If it's benign, by getting it removed, you prevented it from getting cancerous.  So I hope they caught it in time for you.
