Fecal Body Odor

Hello...I had a question about an odor problem I've been experiencing on and off for 15 years. First off, when I was younger I was pumped with antibiotics for constant ear infections. Coming into my teens I experienced really bad gastritis for a while and found out I was allergic to milk. After getting off the milk the gas wasn't as chronic but it was still there. Now around the age of 15 was the start of the intense body odor. I really don't know how I graduated from highschool after this awful odor. There were 2 odors. 1 odor more frequent was a persistent lingering sulfur musty odor that would follow me wherever I went. The odor would change every now and then. Sometimes it smelt like rotten carrots, garbage, cat poo, etc. After eating better and taking shower after shower things got worse. Around 16 years old I started drinking off and on thinking I would forget about it and it would go away. I was SO wrong. This is the 2nd odor I'm talking about. I remember one day I walked into the cafeteria and people were screaming and running out every door. The whole building was just filled with a rotten egg odor- times 1 million. I shortly figured out it was me after doing this more than once. After years of this it would go away for 6 months and then come back to haunt me. Now a days I have more of the lingering odor and haven't had the bad one for a while. It seems like I get the bad odor when I just get a new job and I begin to sweat from physical labor. After trying so many different things I still can't hack this problem. I have tried cleanses, probiotics, liver cleanses, L Glutamine for Leaky Gut, Green drinks, gosh you name it. Recently, I've been focusing on intestinal candida and I've been taking oregano oil and colloidal silver followed by Primal Defense probiotics for a week now and I just feel a bit tired and the odor is more persistent followed by crazy dreams. Not sure if this is die-off or not. About 6 months ago I got a colonoscopy and edoscopy done for pain in my lower left side of colon. He found lots of internal hemroids and cut out some benign polyps. He just said he didn't see anything big and Its probably genetic why I smell this way. He wouldn't give me any blood or stool tests not sure why. The one thing that I do that makes the smell worse or better sometimes, usally better, is an enema. So I think the problem is in my colon somewhere. One more thing. A year ago I had a perenial abcess that I had to get drained and has returned in the same spot after doing an enema a week ago. Maybe the abcess problem is causing the odor? Shoot!! Sorry about the long question I just wanted to try to get as much as I could in. Does anybody have a similar experience or any advice that might help? I'm not sure what to do anymore. I would see a Naturopathic Doctor again but I can't afford it anymore. Last time it seemed like I never left my appointment for under $600.00. Thanks for reading if you haven't already fell asleep... Wesley

I have this problem also. My suspicion that this is a gastrointestinal problem caused by dental implants. The hypothesis is that dental implants (particularly the new composite, resin types) excite the production of saliva and stomach acid in some people and may also cause a mild intolerance and allergic effects. Over time this causes overgrowth of bacteria in the gut and slowly breaks down the gut wall making it more porous than it should be - the stomach is basically slowly digesting itself. I am in the process of trying to persuade a dentist to remove some composite that was inserted and is non-essential. It could take weeks to find a dentist willing to do this. It has been my experience that dentists are more than willing to implant things willy nilly into your mouth but reluctant to remove them. We do not know what the long term of theses new visually appealing dental implants are in our systems. They are essentially porous structures filled with chemicals that leech out and cause any number of reactions in people. In addition the dental industry doesn't seem to fathom that these materials could possibly be causing reactions in people. People routinely have allergic react to seemingly innocuous substances, nuts, fish etc. If you throw enough seemingly innocuous things at someone they will have a reaction at some point - never mind chemicals that are cured right there in your mouth. It is entirely plausible that the dental industry will have a massive scandal about implanting new materials in the next five years.

p.s. I don't drink or take drugs and I am otherwise healthy.

It would be interesting to know how many people with this problem in this forum have dental implants.

I came across this thread and wanted to add a thought here fore everyone.  I don't have the body odor problem, but noticed that my ex-husband developed this problem - he is a drinker and in his case  the smell it is alcohol.liver related.  U asked a doctor and also researched this and would recommend that you explore issues with the liver.  The liver does a lot of processing for us humans and can become dysfunctional.  O'm not suggesting anyone here is an alcoholic by the way, but thought this may give clues to the role of the liver in a fecal body odor  Here's what I also read:

"There is a peculiar odor of the breath in individuals with severe liver disease caused by volatile aromatic substances that accumulate in the blood and urine.

The issue of odor in people with liver disease is a common one. It happens for the same reason that so many other complications do, the failure of the liver to process toxins. These toxins will build up in urine, perspiration, and even on the breath. It's called fetor hepaticus.
With hepatic encephalopathy, the breath may take on a "musty/sweet" smell. Dehydration can also be a factor here.
In late stage liver failure, the breath may take on a pungent, strong and noticeable odor that smells like “rotten egg”. Sulfides build up (dimethyl sulfide) and are released in urine, breath, feces, and sweat."

try a multi enzyme and cut out dairy or buy a lactase enzyme for when you want to eat it.  cut back on the booze also. these things helped me a lot. i noticed ppl would complain of my rancid, vomit, garbage, **** stench after drinking chocolate milk. i cut back on dairy, bought multi-enzymes, ppl dont complain of **** smell any more. I had a lot of **** garbage smell comments in high school. I think I still smell a bit sometimes if i tax my digestive system too hard without enzymes. just not nearly as bad. don't scrub too hard, it wont help. wash normally. i believe it's caused when to many undigested macro nutrients make it into your lower GI tract then you sweat out fermented lipid soluble particles through your apocrine glands. I hope this helps
