Saw the doctor today. Ultrasound negative for gallstones. Scheduled for HIDA scan this week. Does anyone know how long a HIDA scan takes? Is there anything I should know before having this test done? It seems as though many people are split as to weather having the gallbladder out for dyskenesis really helps or not.
Thanks everyone for your replies
I thinks it's your gallbladder, and they just need to look closer. You have all the classic symptoms. Take care.
Hida scan they inject you with a dye to make the gallbladder show up. and then inject you with CCK and that makes the gallbladder retract and see how it functions. I had an MRI done and they found a stone. I also has a ultra sound and CT scan done nothing showed there. Good luck to you
Thanks for the replies. Yes they did a WBC but it is not back yet. I notice it with most meals. Not as bad if I eat just small meals. I will ask my dr. about the HIDA scan. What is involved in this test?
Thanks again for all the replies.
Could still be a bad gallbladder do you notice if it is worse after eating greasy, fried foods or diary products
You can ask for a hidascan to check function. You also may have an infection in that area. Did they check your wbc?
Ask your doctor for a hidascan to check the functionality of your gallbladder. pretty painless and it looks at the function of your gallbladder.... Good luck!!
