Pancreatic Cancer

Hello!

1) Is it possible a doctor to discard Pancreatic Cancer diagnosis doing just an ultrasound?

2) How often occurs Pancreatic Cancer in people under 40 years old? Is it rare?

Thank you for your attention!

Acai can turn your stools black.  I don't think you need to worry that this is blood in your stool unless you continue having black stools even when you aren't eating acai.

Yesterday I ate Acai (black fruit). Today my stools are loose and very very black (like Acai). I always ate Acai and I´ve never seen my stool so black.

Does it make sense?

Remebring I have 2 gallstones (no pains, assintomatic) and I am taking medicines for IBS and worms.

Worried again! I cant put my mind at rest.
:(

Thank you!

You should have your fasting glucose repeated, as one high result doesn't mean anything.  I don't think it is pancreatic cancer because your symptoms don't quite fit, you have had 2 negative ultrasounds, and you have had negative bloodwork.  If you had more worrysome symptoms and/or inconclusive bloodwork, then I think you might need a CT scan, but because you don't have either of those, I don't think you need a CT scan.  A lot of your symptoms could actually just be anxiety.  Seeing a therapist will help you dealing with your worrying.

No, not repeated fasting glucose yet.

I dont know how to say in english, the medice I am taking for IBS is "Brometo de Pinaverio".

OK, two clean ultrasounds, but why do you think it is not Pancreatic Cancer? (no jaundice but small itches, high glucose, minor back pains and yellow/different stools for one month).

Do you think it is necessary to perform a CT or a NMR? What else this sympthoms could be?

The doctors also said I need to see a therapist to treat my anxiety. The problem is I am so worried at moment! :(

Thank you!

Have you had your fasting glucose repeated?  No, I think in your case pancreatic cancer is not something it could be.  The itches could be anxiety and it sounds like you need to see a therapist about your anxiety.  What medicines are you taking for your IBS?

Yes, fasting for 8-10 hours, glucose in 105.

I went in 2 doctors and both of them said me if my sympthoms (urine a bit dark yellow, yellow stools, sometimes vague pains in low abdominal and back, high glucose,...) were due Pancreatic Cancer certainly the ultrasound would show something. And the I did 2 ultrasounds last week with different doctors and both were clean (expect for my stones in gallbladder and a minor hepatic steatosis).

Does it make sense?

I have small itches but I don't have jaundice. Could it be anxiety?

The problem is I am taking medice for irritable bowel syndrome for 3 days and  I didn't notice any change. Thats the reason I keep worried!

Until now I am doing nothing to deal with my anxiety, just trying to forget the problems, but it is hard to put my mind at rest!

Thank you!

How'd it turn out?

When your glucose was tested, had you been fasting?  I think that you don't have any problems with your pancreas and you need to stop worrying about it.  Are you doing anything to deal with your anxiety?

I saw 2 gastroenterologist and both said me there is nothing wrong with Pancreas. They said I did 2 clean ultrasound and my bloodwork is showing others kinds of problem (high glucose - 105, high cholesterol - 245 and high triglycerides - 220). They said I should be worried with these kind of problem (do diet and exercises) and not with Pancreas.

But...I keep worried with my sympthoms: first urine of the day is a bit dark yellow, sometimes small itches, my stools are different and sometimes vague low abdominal pain and vague back pains.

They said it can be irritable bowel syndrome (at now taking 2 medicines for it) and anxious! I am 35 years old but I am very anxious.

What do you think? I can´t put my mind at rest!

A CT scan and bloodwork will almost surely rule out pancreatic cancer.  I am not a doctor, but to me it doesn't sound like you have pancreatic cancer.  Your symptoms could be related to the gallstones.  I would recommend you see a gastroenterologist to decide the best course of treatment for this.

What is the best exam to rule out Pancreatic Cancer?

I´ve been expericieng some problems in the last month: my stools are different, vague low abdominal pain and vague back pains. I am very anxious. After read about Cancer Pancreatic I can´t put my mind at rest and started feeling minor itches.

My doctor asked a ultrasound and some blood tests. After the results he said it is fine for Pancreas. But I have other problems: 2 stones in my gallblader and minor hepatic steatosis. Also my blood tests showed my glucose (105), cholesterol (245) and triglycerides (220) are high and I can have problem in the future because that.

He said me to take some medices to irritable bowel syndrome and asked to remove the gallblader.

But I am very anxious and can´t put my mind at rest because my sympthons occurs in Pancreatic Cancer.

PS) In january I stayed working one month in another country (Middle East) eating different foods. And my sympthons started there.

Thank you for your response.

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  You can't 100% rule out pancreatic cancer just based on an ultrasound.  Pancreatic cancer is rare in everyone.
