I recently underwent a endoscopy and colonoscopy and still have several questions since my former GI doctor did not provided me with the answer, i.e. making him my former. This is the Microscopic Findings:
A: Sections from the gastric antrum show portions of antral and oxyntic-type gastric mucosa with edema, vascular congestion and patchy chronic inflammation of the lamina propria. The features are those of a chronic gastritis.
B: Sections from the distal esophagus show portions of squamous and glandular mucosa. The glandular mucosa shows features of gastric mucosa. The squamous mucosa shows reactive features including basal layer hyperplasia and elongation of the submucosa papillae. Patchy chronic inflammation is seen. The features are those of reflux esophagitis. There is intestinal metaplasia
C: Sections from the second portion of duodenum show portions of duodenal mucosa with a normal villous architecture. There is moderate edema and mild chronic inflammation of the lamina propria. The inflammation is non-specific.
D: Sections from the terminal ileum biopsy show portions of small bowel mucosa with a normal villous architecture. There is moderate edema and mild chronic inflammation of the lamina propria including reactive appearing lymphoid aggregate formations.
E: Sections from the left and right colon biopsy show portions of colonic mucosa with moderate edema and mild chronic inflammation of lamina propria. The inflammation is non-specific.
Can someone tell me what does this all mean??
My research has lead to Chron's disease, colitis, chonic gastritis, barrett esophagus, EGID, EoE, Reflus Esophagitis and Celiac diease and other food allergies. Can someone please help?
