Tummy issues...need some advice.

My stomach hasn't been okay for some time now. Everything was okay until a while ago my stools changed, they just weren't right....then I started having some blood when I went for number 2 and I wiped....

This lead me to the doctor who said I was constipated, so I went home and took some medicine, added a whole lot of fibre to my diet and started taking some natural fiber from the pharmacy before bed. This improved some what....but my stool wasn't right still...it was light brown and what I would classify as mushy or very sticky......I also had a lot of mucus and when I wiped myself there would be no stool to clean only wet from mucus? as if it was water. If I sort of stood up and crouched over the toilet I would get any blood but if I sat down there was sometimes blood.

Then I had to go to the doctor for a throat infection and I couldn't really swallow....so the doc said I had a throat infection and gave me antibiotics for a week. On about the 3rd day I went to the toilet and had some gas and some diarrhea.....like mucus with watery stool. This could be due to the antibiotics so I held it out and didnt go to the doc. But now its been a week since I stopped antibiotics and I have loads of gas, I feel the urge to go and all that comes out is gas and mucus.....then sometimes I get some stool but its only small bits, like one or two. I also have quite a lot of blood.

This is freaking me out. Im going to the doctor again tomorrow. I have to wait two months when I go back home to do any tests as I am living in a different country to my own. What I think IM going to tell the doctor tomorrow is if he can do some blood tests and stool samples....just to make sure Im not really really ill and I can wait 2 months till I go home.

Does this sound like hemmoroidhs?....constipation? or something else? Please some advice...

Thank you.

ALT, ALT, AST, Serum bilirubim. These are some of the main liver tests. Do you see anything like that on the sheet they gave you?
What kind of diet or you on and when did you change it?

What info do you need? She checked for anemia which was not present and she said all other values vere normal.

Now Im going through a period where I feel constipated but I dont what what really is happening.....when I get an urge suddenly I go but first comes out gas and a brown liquid which I think is mucus and then gas and then maybe a very small stool.....its soft and some blood after drips. The blood is bright red.

I have tried changing diet......adding fibre, taking fibre out, medicine, doing lots of exercise now.....nothing has worked.

Does this sound something really bad? I have also lost weight but as we have been on a diet it could be because of that......

Very stressed due to the situation and want to know if this looks like it is something really bad.

Yes, your Dr would have had to order a liver test. It sounds like he was only looking for infection maybe. Do you have a copy of the lab results? If not, can you call your Dr to ask if you can pick a copy up or have them send you one? Maybe if we see what he tested for and did not test for we can better help you.
I know you've already made diet changes but try giving up gluten, it's found in most breads and cereals.

Doc said blood test was normal. Is there a specific test for liver enzymes? if it was done when my blood test was done, what should I look for in the blood test paper work?

I moved to a new country and was fine for first 4 months....then I moved house and problems started.......at the moment symptoms vary...I had some very loose stool a week ago and now I havent gone for 3 days and today I felt the urge to go and I went but only a very little bit came out very soft.

I have already been loads to the doc.....Ive arranged a colonoscopy when I go back home to europe.....thing is I am not going back till mid july. So have to wait.

Im worried because I have tried everything.....gone to doctor....tried diet change.....no dairy......taken fibre....stopped fibre....medicine from new doctor....diet......no pasta, white bread, etc.......medicine....supposotories for possible internal hemmoroids.....everything and still no improvement.

What could this be?? Does it sound like it could be something very bad? I still have quite a lot of gas......my abdomen, very near the bottom gurgles and sometimes cramps but no real pain......gas.....I need to know cause IM worried it is sometihng very bad!

Help and advice?! At the moment I am looking after what I eat, no bad food and doing sport everyday and waiting till 14 july when I fly back and will get checked...not much else to do.

Did all of your problems start when you moved to a new country? If so, it might be because of the diet change.
Your Dr has done some testing but I do agree with the above posters about getting your liver checked. Ask if they can check your liver enzymes.

Just back from doc.....says parasites are clean and stool is normal.....man that has me down.....I was hoping it was going to be diagnosed as parasites.

Yesterday I went to bathroon and stood up/crouched over toilet and no blood....but today got home from work and went and had quite a lot of watery brown liquid and then two bits of stool and worse of all quite a lot of blood.

Ive done everything I can, went to doc...blood test.....stool sample.....Im at my wits end......

My stomach gurgles.....I feel like I have something in my backside and sometimes it itches......and then I get a feeling of like I need to go but when I go its first like brownish liquid (mucus) and then only two small stools and blood.

Dont know what to do because I dont want to get a colonoscopy here.....not in this country......want to wait till july when I fly home....Just worried If its bad...

I was thinking more along the lines of gallbladder issues (small stones, inflammation) or something disturbing the bile flow since you've moved between constipation & loose/sticky.The mucus seems to point to an IBD or an infection (maybe a parasite) and would also likely be accompanied by elevated WBC, etc ... but you said the blood work shows nothing odd. Seems like you have some medical services there so assume nothing and just let your doctor know about your observations.

Thanks.....not sure about liver.....doctor said everything with my blood work was normal and withing the normal values.....

I cant do a colonoscpy where I currently live.....actually I would rather not...I live in a third world country as I work here and would rather wait until summer in july when I go back to europe. I have already organised to have one done when I get back at a private clinic.

I just hope my situation isnt dangerous and that I cant wait two months.

Doctor has me on medicine for parasites.......and some powder to treat mucus and gas.....also on a diet of boiled vegetables, chicke, yougurt and no milk for a while.....toast, soft rice, etc, etc....

Will take stool sample on monday. Im not sure what it could be.....really worried.

Should I ask doctor on monday about liver etc?? What other questions should I ask?

Please advise!

Hopefully someone with more knowledge about IBS/IBD comes along to answer your questions since that sounds like it might be your problem. I've had rectal bleeding myself that could be quite variable at times. Bad enough sometimes to leave the water in the bowl quite bloody.

In my case, it was bad enough to cause severe anemia and changed my skin color to a pallor that my friends would notice. Your doctor checked you for anemia which is a good thing so now you know it's isn't acute enough to need immediate attention. Certainly your problem needs prompt medical evaluation and a colonoscopy seems like a very good idea. They can't do one where you're currently located? I assume that since you've had the blood work done, liver enzymes levels were ok and didn't also indicate other possible issues?

Can I get some comments? I went to the doc yesterday. Blood tests were all normal, she checked for anemia because of the blood loss but there was none and all levels were normal.

On Monday I have to take a stool sample.

I live in a different country to my own so I have arranged for a colonoscopy for when I return home in 2 months time for summer holidays.

If the blood results were normal what else can I do besides taking the stool sample? The doctor has given me medicine to treat my symptoms but still is not sure what is wrong with me.
