splenic hemangioma treatment

i am a 60 year old female who has been experiencing bouts of retching, with occasional vomiting, and periodic upper abdominal pain for over 1 year.  labs all wnl. it can be several days a week or every 2-3 weeks.
after ct saying i had either a "fungal infection or metastatic cancer"  i finally (not fun waiting) had mri and it concluded i had multiple splenic hemangiomas, largest being 1.4 cm.
my gi does not feel these are causing my symptoms because my pain is episodic and not all the time.
i am confused as what little i did read said i have the symptoms.  it did not say how often they had to be.
i also thought a spleenectomy might be recommended.
should i get second gi opinion, who has seen this before?  he suggested a hemacologist.
what ever is going on is interfering with my life.
sign me frustrated.

thanks for the info.
i did mention in the above that i thought my symptoms might be related to splenic hemangiomas. he does not think so.
he is a gi doc, as also mentioned, and i had an endoscopy and many other tests. they did find hiatal hernia.  multiple biopsies, all ok.  stomach was red.
he called me yesterday and said i also had pancreatic divisum, and is checking pancreatic enzymes.  it seems my symptoms are consistent with pancreatitis.
so maybe we are getting closer to what is going on,
thanks for you response.

Apparently, splenic haemangiomas are the commonest benign tumours of the spleen, and the majority are asymptomatic, being diagnosed as an incidental finding on investigative procedures for other disorders so he may be right in terms of it being the cause of your episodic retching. I would imagine if it caused any bloating of your spleen and possible rupture, then you might want to have it removed, but of course you need to discuss this with a GI doc. You may want to seek a second opinion.

Was there no other investigative imaging done or anything like an endoscopy to check all the way through the stomach?
